StreetShootr’s Take

I have to admit that I’m scratching my head at the “short” list that contains 70 images. It’s a mixed bag of good to truly excellent street photography but I can’t help but think that this list looks more like a first edit than an actual shortlist.

One of the issues I have with this contest is that OBSERVE isn’t judging the contest. As a result it doesn’t really represent the high standards that we’ve come to expect from one of the best street photography collectives working today. You have to hope that the final winners will up the ante a bit!

However you look at it, there’s a solid group of photographs represented in the shortlist and I’m eager to see the winning images!
